With a magnitude of 0.0 and a color index of 0.0, Vega is the standard by which all stars are measured. And, it's beautiful.
Lyra contains at least 2 dozen very cool double stars, if you're into that sort of thing. The most famous one being Epsilon Lyrae, which is a double-double at high magnification (>100x).
Blue sun Delta 1 Lyr and Red giant sun Delta 2 Lyr are not true binary stars, but the color contrast thru binoculars is stunning. Carbon star T Lyr is one of the reddest stars in the sky thru a small scope. Sorry for the banter, but Lyra really deserves your attention if you have binoculars or a small scope. You might even find the cool Ring Nebula!
