Iridescence generally occurs in thin clouds that are within 10° of the Sun. I could explain the Physics behind that, but it would detract from the mystical qualities of this fantastic optical phenomenon. (I really forgot my optical physics) Those bougainvillea have really taken over the Observatory garden.
