This spectacular capture of the zodiacal light was done near the new moon phase that began 2019 on January 2nd. It was the first time I had ever seen this phenomena and I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. At first, I thought it was a spot light from a distance or a nearby town polluting the night sky, but after it didn't go away and in fact became more prominent, I realized what it was! I was ecstatic to have finally seen this. It was truely amazing and to have the Milkyway right next to it was the cherry on top!
