To my basic understanding, tonight with bare eyes and smartphone I might have gotten within the frame of my view some of the major residents of 'Moon in winter circle' (after reading in EarthSky).
Besides, I also opened the-many-years-ago downloaded-Stelarrium-shortcut on my desktop to guide me in placing the stars in perspective.
At 9.00 pm, I could view Sirius , Orion, Aldebaran but after 10 30 pm I could place only Pollux, Castor, Procyon, Capella..maybe Betelgeuse ( in between two spikes of the leftmost cypress tree). Moon is out of shape but twinkled in the camera.
Did I?
