Multiple aircraft contrails were seen in the sky above the north of Singapore this evening at about 6.45 pm. The planes must have flown a few minutes before the they left the trails that had actually spread and had form a cloud like formation. Contrails are actually a short term for “condensation trails”. Some people have mistaken them as as smoke from the aircraft . But these contrails are formed by water in the jet engine exhaust. So when it mixes with wet cold air, it condenses and freezes into ice crystals. Contrails are also known to be a type of cirrus cloud. It was really amazing to see multiple contrails at one go and it was quite a rare phenomenon that I observed this evening here in Singapore ! There are even conspiracy theories that the condensation trials are man made "chemtrails" that contains chemical or biological agents that are sprayed on purpose in the atmosphere by aircrafts. These theories, however, have been dismissed by scientists.
