This moon is not only a Super Moon, but also known as a Worm Moon. This is just why I bought my son a TASCO 900mm telescope. Long story short, I have yet to be able to sight anything in with this scope, but again I tried, there was no joy. Out comes my trusty Nikon D500, cropping the image area, giving me the rough equivalent of a 600mm lens. My intent was to take a shot of the moon between the branches. I was distract while shooting, looked up and saw the partially obscured by branches, but took a couple of shots anyway. As I am looking the shots my eight year old son, who should have been in bed pointed out that the moon has a smiley face. With a little imagination, you can even see a dimpled cheek.
