I am an amateur start gazer and being in remote location right in the middle of Sahara in Algeria and working in a gas field. I had read Earth and Sky article on how to spot Canopus and within 2-3 days could spot the same through the fencing of the campsite. I tried my hand using the camera on my Nokia 8 smartphone . That is the decent camera I had. Took a few photos but in all the stars were streaked owing to camera shake. The above photo was the best of the lot.
I would be thrilled to see my photo published.
