Comet C/2018 Y1 (Iwamoto) the colourful blue dot in Leo on the left, early Tuesday morning Feb. 12, 2018 from Indian Fields, Shelburne County, Nova Scotia at its brightest and closest to earth. Discovered on Dec 19, 2018, Japanese time by Masayuki Iwamoto who discovered another comet on Nov 7, 2018. M44 the Beehive Cluster can be seen on the right. This comet is currently the brightest in the sky. The rays on the bright stars are caused by diffraction from the 6 aperture blades in the lens.
