I have been watching Venus and Jupiter for a couple of weeks, as I drive eastward through open country to get to the school where I teach. One morning, I saw this pair, plus Mercury near the horizon. I told my fifth graders about it. Many thought I'd lost my mind, but a few remembered. A week and a half later, one young man saw the two planets, remembered what they were, and snapped a photo. He struggles, academically - but he ABSOLUTELY knew what he'd taken a photo of! MADE MY MONTH.
This morning, the sight of their brilliance nearly took my breath away. Didn't know if my Nikon would be able to pick up any moons - obviously, it did so, brilliantly!

Used and editor to increase exposure slightly, then increase contrast.
I then reduced color saturation, due to some strange chromatic effects that took away from the photo.
