The forecast for the evening of the eclipse varied from partly cloudy to rain with wind. Our best hope was for a few holes in the skies. While preparing my equipment, my headlamp lit horizontal droplets of rain that flew past my face. I put raincoats on my camera and me and watched the moon as it started to eclipse go in and out of the windblown clouds. Eventually that hole I was waiting for did appear, and I was able to shoot totality under a starry sky.
