The January 2019 Lunar eclipse was beautiful, great to watch and fun to photograph. Wasn't the easiest project. I have a Nikon N900 camera which is a "point and shoot" with autofocus. The zoom allowed me to get close, but the autofocus got tough around and through the complete eclipse portion. Plus the temperature in Moultonborough, NH was a tad below zero through the eclipse. But I was happy to do it and I've used Photoshop to put a chain of photos together on a black background.
